YOU WILL BECOME

Sincerely, growing up is not all fun and games as earlier envisioned... I mean, thought I will grow up, do whatever it is I wanted, go out when I wanted, have all the money in the world (lol) you can imagine my shock when I graduated.
I had an expectation of where I wanted to work, what my earnings would look like and of course it wasn’t a small figure, jokes on me now.

The thing is, I wasn’t ready for these responsibilities but they came anyway. The days of serial brokenness (if there is a word like that), when I don’t feel like seeing the sun and I doubted my relevance all befell me.

But by now, you can totally relate to this if you are in your adolescence or adult phase but the truth is no-one was given a guideline on how to handle these things because we have our unique experiences and what sets you apart is how gracefully you handle these loads of responsibilities coming your way.

One thing is vital, “Preparation”.
being on this adolescence rollercoaster brought one thing to mind, if you don’t reinvent yourself, don’t expect anything phenomenal. This can be a tight corner for some people because you will have to trash some things you held dear, as long as it’s worth it, you better do it.
You don’t grow by staying the same, you evolve.

Next thing you have to do is decide early on what you want. In case you weren’t paying attention, time is not on your side, you are growing old, so how do you want to spend time growing old? Lounging or working to make a worthy life?
If you are going to work, what exactly would you invest time working on? Growing up leaves no room for generalization else you will be lost in the crowd, confused and feeling left out but at this stage, you have a good start and a lot of information at your disposal.
Paying attention to your skillset and interests it’s the fastest way to move.

Cut yourself some slack
Yes everything is on a fast pace and it looks like you are lagging behind but you need to breathe, okay?
I used to think if you don’t work 9-5, 8-4 you are not making any progress but it's all a lie. We live on this fast lane and one could easily swing right into depression without knowing.
You are not in a competition with anyone so when you are tired, rest.
When you are emotionally drained take some time out but be sure your eyes is on the goal.
Find what works for you and stick with it and 'YOU WILL BECOME' because this phase won’t last forever.

Welcome to adulthood where you have to work it out yourself.
